UFC 208’s Biggest Storyline

By | February 11, 2017

This is not a widely anticipated UFC card to say the least. No McGregor, No Rousey (Likely ever again), No Jones, and not much potential for a future superstar to be born. That being said, the card has a lot of potential, especially in terms of what the results of this card could set up for future cards.
One thing that the main event is likely defining is a future opponent for Cyborg. Now that Amanda Nunes is the clear woman to beat, not only in the bantam weight division, but in the UFC overall, Cyborg (also a featherweight) will likely be looking to build collateral for a shot to drop a class to fight Nunes for the title. The problem is that Cyborg is facing a year ban for testing positive for a banned substance BUT it has come out in the past two days that she is very likely NOT getting suspended. So, the featherweight battle & main event between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie will likely define who fights Cyborg in a few months which will be for a chance to drop down and fight Nunes.
